With home form patchy and performances uninspiring supporters had very little to cheer about at The Hawthorns before the victory over Sunderland.

Boos have been heard inside the ground during the last two games, at the final whistle of the Everton match and at half-time against the Black Cats.

Now Albion have shot up into the top half, Pulis is hoping for more supportive noises from the fans.

But he knows his team have to play their part too.

"I just hope and pray that we get a full house and our supporters really get behind the lads, because it's so important," he said.

"We need to give them a performance to get behind us, but we need them behind us, and fingers crossed we can put in another performance like we did (against Norwich)."

Impressed by the Canaries' fans, the Welshman pointed out the influence loud home support can have on swinging tight games.

Carrow Road was jumping for the opening stages but Albion weathered the early storm before taking control of the game.

"If you heard their supporters, especially first 20 minutes, they were trying to suck the ball in the back of the net," said Pulis. "The crowd were absolutely fantastic for them."

There were no boos from the travelling Albion fans at Carrow Road, and after the game they belted out a rendition of "Pride of the Midlands, we know what we are."

Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove Albion have expressed an interest in signing Sebastien Pocgonoli on loan .

The out-of-favour left-back has made just one appearance this season, in the Capital One Cup defeat away at Norwich.
