The Baggies head coach believes Pardew should be considered when Roy Hodgson eventually leaves the post.

Pulis and Pardew go head-to-head tomorrow when Albion head to Palace for a lunchtime kick-off.

The hosts are currently seventh in the table and Pulis, who himself resigned from the Eagles in August last year, reckons Pardew's achievement should not be under-estimated.

Hodgson is contracted to the Three Lions until July 2016 with the Football Association delaying fresh talks ahead of next year's European Championship.

And Pulis said: "I've heard people mention Alan has spent a lot of money since he's been there, but he's done a fantastic job. When you look at his record over the years, he's been as good as anyone.

"I know Roy will want to do this Euros and most probably the next World Cup but, if you are looking for the next England manager, Pardew has got to be looked at.

"He is definitely one who would come into the frame. He's done very well wherever he has been. He did a fantastic job at Newcastle and I don't think he got the credit he deserved there.

"He has been to Palace and picked it up. They have given him money to spend, but he's got players like (Yohan) Cabaye who have come in and done exceptionally well.

"He deserves a lot of credit."
