West Brom today completed their first piece of transfer business of the summer with the £3million sale of Graham Dorrans to Premier League new-boys Norwich.

The Baggies gave the green light for the Canaries to keep the Scotland international after his loan spell there and have agreed a fee to allow him to remain at Carrow Road on a permanent basis.

Dorrans played his part as Alex Neil's side returned to the top flight at the first attempt after beating Middlesbrough 2-0 at Wembley in the Championship play-off final on Monday.

Dorrans said: "The deal is done. I'm really looking forward to it. The gaffer has been a breath of fresh air for me and for the rest of the lads."

The move extends Dorrans's Albion career and brings the curtain down on his time at the Hawthorns, after 26 goals in 189 outings.

But it's an excellent return on the £150,000 he cost to bring him to England from Livingston in July 2008.

The 28-year-old made 18 appearances for the East Anglian side, including all three play-off ties, after joining Norwich on February 17.

His final game for Albion came in the 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham on January 31.

And his influence was a positive one as Norwich won 12 and drew four of his games, while he also scored three goals, in wins away at Bolton and Leeds and at home to Fulham.

He came on as a 75th-minute replacement for Wes Hoolahan at Wembley in the play-off final.

Dorrans, who had two years left on his Albion contract, was also a late sub in the semi-final second leg against Ipswich after starting the first tie against the Tractor Boys.

The sale of Dorrans and the release of Youssouf Mulumbu on a free transfer after six years means Albion will have lost two midfielders who have played a key role in the recent history of the club.

Pulis brought in experienced Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher in January but is sure to be looking at other options to strengthen the middle of the park.

Dorrans is hoping the move resurrects his chances of adding to his 10 Scotland caps.
