McManaman completed a medical yesterday with the Baggies hoping to seal the winger's transfer from Wigan today.

And boss Tony Pulis is refusing to give up on Manchester United midfielder Fletcher.

West Ham were confident before the weekend that the 30-year-old Scotland international had opted to move to Upton Park.

But he has yet to sign for Sam Allardyce's side with sources in London hinting at possible wrangling over personal terms which could bring rival clubs including Albion back into play.

The Baggies are remaining tight-lipped but are holding out hope he could opt for a move to The Hawthorns, with the club's closer location to his North West family home potentially in their favour.

Fresh reports yesterday linked Albion with former Chelsea striker Demba Ba, but Besiktas' asking price and Ba's wage demands make a move unlikely.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old defender Donervorn Daniels has completed a loan move to Scottish Premiership title-chasers Aberdeen until the end of this season.
