Albion new-boy Ben Foster today refused to rule out an England return – but confirmed he has no immediate plans to play international football.

The new Hawthorns No 1, who has joined the Baggies from Birmingham on a season-long loan, would consider a comeback if England goalkeeper Joe Hart was ruled out of Fabio Capello's team.

But Foster revealed even the prospect of becoming Capello's first-choice might not be enough to tempt him back into the England fold.

The Express & Star revealed on Saturday how Foster plans to extend the international sabbatical he announced last season.

He said: "I am happy just playing club football and, when the international breaks come around, I find it's a good time to recharge the batteries and take my mind off football.

"I know I will be asked the question and it's something I accept. I feel that while I am enjoying my football I'll leave it as it is.

"If something does happen to Joe and the manager gives me a call and says the a're desperate for me to come back in, I can consider it.

"Even then I'm not too sure. It is hard if you're away for 10 days or two weeks and you don't get to see your family for that time.

"It's hard, especially when you've got kids of two and three years old. You almost feel like you're missing part of them growing up and it is hard to take.

"If you couple that with not playing, you feel like you've lost two weeks of your life for nothing."
