Albion have added Israel international striker Itay Shechter to their list of possible transfer targets.

The 24-year-old Hapoel Tel Aviv forward is being monitored by the Baggies as boss Roy Hodgson considers his summer transfer plans.

The 5ft 10in striker is also being watched by German Bundesliga outfit Kaiserslautern, after scoring 26 goals in 45 appearances for Hapoel since joining them from Maccabi Netanya in 2009.

Reports that he is to join Albion on trial are incorrect, but he is a potential target.

He started his career at Israeli second-tier side Hapoel Nazareth Illit before moving to the top division with Maccabi Netanya in 2006.

He has nine full international caps and two goals, having played previously for Israel's under-18s, under-19s and under-21s.

The Baggies look set to shake up their attacking options this summer, as they seek support and competition for Peter Odemwingie.

Simon Cox ended the season strongly but Marc-Antoine Fortune has struggled to shine so far, while Ishmael Miller has been troubled with injuries throughout.
