Cradley hit Kent with a hat-trick of maximums in their 65-27 National League demolition last night.

The result means they have gone past the 60-point barrier in three of their four league meetings so far and are bang on course for the play-offs in the defence of their league title.

Steve Worrall notched a full 18-point maximum with skipper Paul Starke on 13+2 and Max Clegg 14+1 both unbeaten by a visiting rider.

Fans and riders had arrived at Monmore in steady rain but Worrall was quick to praise the track staff for their efforts.

He said: "It's ironic really because I reckon the track turned out to be the best it has been this season!

"I'm obviously delighted to get the maximum and I owe Starkie one because he slowed down to let me through in the last race for the win.

"We've got a good team going here at Cradley and everyone is getting on great because we are scoring well and winning meetings. Hopefully that will continue for the rest of the season.

"The crowds here are brilliant, even on a night like this they turned out in force and the crowds supporting Cradley are bigger than most clubs in a higher division, it's amazing."

Cradley: Steve Worrall 18, Max Clegg 14+1, Paul Starke 13+2, Nathan Greaves 8+3, Matt Williamson 8+1, Danny Phillips 4+1, Tom Perry R/R.
