Pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather Jnr arrived in the West Midlands on Friday for the last-but-one date of his tour of the UK.

A capacity crowd of 300 guests waited patiently for the world's fifth-richest sportsman, who arrived at the venue shortly before 9pm.

Promoters Scott Murray, Spencer Brown and Carl Cato are responsible for bringing the 38-year-old, who retired undefeated with a 49-0-0 pro record last year, to the area.

The man himself retired into the VIP room for another hour, before a 20-minute long musical interlude led us into the arrival of our esteemed guest through the back entrance of the building.

The crowd went wild when he appeared, abandoning their seats to stand on top of their chairs as he was ushered into the room. 'Money' strutted onto the stage and it went from there.

Mayweather's opening address said: "Fans have been not just good but great since I have been here, whereas the media in my country tells you certain things what everyone believes.

"As far as fans go, these people here are ride or die fans, they stick with you to the end. They are loyal fans to me."

All of his life and times were laid bare over the best part of an hour, drawn out of him by skilled interviewer and former WBC world super middleweight champion Richie Woodhall, from Telford.

VIP guests then went into the back to have their pictures taken with Mayweather before they left, departing with their snaps to keep of the biggest draw in boxing history.

Him and his 26-strong entourage departed at the end of the evening, with five white Rolls Royce's waiting outside to take them away.
