Dudley's Ryan Aston has been told to expect a test when professional boxing returns to his home-town in the autumn.

'Tank' rolled over late replacement Dee Mitchell for the 14

victory of his paid career in his 15

contest on Saturday night, but harder challenges lie ahead.

The Venue in Dudley has been lined up for action on September 19 and a live opponent will be brought in for Aston, who supports Tipton's Ricky Summers as he boxes for a title.

Aston took no chances with wily Brummie Mitchell at Aston Villa Football Club's Holte Suite. It came on a stacked bill from Paul 'PJ' Rowson.

Scheduled opponent Simone Lucas pulled out with the ever-ready Mitchell called into action as not a man to be trifled with, as a veteran of 73 pro contests.

A brawl was of no benefit to Aston as he hit the back-foot and hung back to work off the jab, which was almost enough to fend off Mitchell as he came forward.

Aston went through a lazy period in the second round and was woken up by two stiff right hooks that hastened his retreat further.

The Black Country combatant was defending a nick to the left eye that could have opened up under pressure, sustained in sparring with Priory Park club-mate and soon-to-be pro Ryan Partridge.

That second round setback saw him share the second round with Mitchell, but he rolled over to record a 40-37 points victory at light middleweight with the referee, Dudley's Shaun Messer.
