Walsall's British lightweight champion Martin Gethin returns to the ring when he takes on Derry Mathews next month.
The pair will clash for the vacant WBA intercontinental lightweight crown in Mathews’ home-town of Liverpool on May 10.
After losing to Panama’s Ammeth Diaz in an IBF world title eliminator last May, the fight represents a chance for Gethin to get back on track.
But he knows Mathews, himself a former British and Commonwealth champion, will not be an easy opponent on fight night.
Gethin, who takes on Mathews at Liverpool Olympia, said: "This is a big fight for me."
