Stafford Rangers claimed the derby bragging rights but lost Josh Craddock to a straight red card and Ben Haseley with a recurrence of an injury to his arm.

A late winner put Rangers 12 points clear at the top of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South.

A crowd of 978 saw Chasetown take the lead through James Dance on 17 minutes, when he went on a mazy run and applied a good finish against his former club.

Rangers captain Christian Dacres equalised four minutes before half-time from close range, after Haseley had seen his initial shot parried by goalkeeper John Bateman.

Chasetown started off the better in the second half and Henry Eze should have restored their lead.

Rangers' goalkeeper Adam Whitehouse could only parry a Simon Brown cross and he headed over when it was easier to score.

Craddock was sent off on 51 minutes for an apparent head butt on Brown and this seemed to give Chasetown some impetus.

Paul Sullivan went just wide with a shot and George Washbourne seeing a corner deflected onto the post.

But Rangers nearly scored on 75 minutes, when a Jermaine Johnson header was tipped round the post by Bateman.

Two minutes from time, substitute George Cater went on a run from midfield and put fellow sub Joe Thomas away for him to round Bateman and brilliantly slot the ball home for a winning goal.
