Substitute Broadhurst fired home an 85th minute winner, after Ben Billingham's free kick had been dramatically scrambled off the Halesowen goal-line.

The result will help Stourbridge get their promotion drive back on track - but the match had its fair share of controvesy as well.

Halesowen started in lively fashion in front of a bumper 1800 plus crowd and the match quickly reached an early fourth minute flashpoint.

Glassboys goalkeeper Lewis Solly raced out of his area and appeared to handle the ball, as Yeltz strikers Michael Turner and Kaiman Anderson were closing in.

Solly escaped with a yellow card, when many felt he should have seen red.

Then Solly further frustrated Halesowen when he got down at the foot of the post to pull off a fantastic save to keep out Malcolm Melvin's resulting free kick.

But Solly ran out of luck three minutes later when he could only palm a blistering Danny Bragoli drive straight into the path of Turner who promptly tucked the ball home.

Stourbridge were back level by the 12th minute. Sean Geddes, who has returned to Stourbridge's ranks, picked out striker Karl Hawley.

The former Carlisle United marksman easily turned his marker Asa Charlton before slotting home past Halesowen shot-stopper Shaun Rowley.

Stourbridge went onto create further chances with Chris Lait's corner skimming the top of the crossbar, while Hawley missed an easier chance to score on 18 minutes when he only had Rowley to beat.

Central defender Stuart Pierpoint then had a goalbound header cleared off the line by Halesowen skipper Jay Denny just before the interval.

But Stourbridge were rocked back on their heels on 50 minutes when Halesowen regained the lead.

Denny picked out Anderson who was allowed to wriggle around two half hearted challenges before finding the corner of the net.

The lead lasted just three minutes, before Stourbridge central defender Dan Scarr climbed highest to head home from a Billingham corner.

Broadhurst, who had replaced Geddes on 70 minutes, then plundered his late winner to keep Stourbridge within sight of the play-off places.

Stourbridge manager Gary Hackett said: "It was a typical local derby when the formbook goes out of the window. Halesowen came with a game plan, started really well, while we defender poorly at times.

"In regards to the incident with Lewis Solly, some you give and some you don't. You just hope the decision goes your way."
