Next Aston Villa manager: No approach for Steve Bruce

Hull City say they will not welcome any approach from Aston Villa for manager Steve Bruce

Bruce is one of the bookies favourites to replace Remi Garde at Villa Park after the Frenchman left the club by mutual consent.

"No approach had been made, nor would one be welcome," said a spokesman for Hull, who are fourth in the table.

Former Villa and Hull manager Brian Little, who recently joined the club's board of directors, will play a key role in the selection process.

But with the team bottom of the table and 12 points adrift of safety with seven games to play, Villa are in no rush to make an appointment.
