Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish will be left out of the squad for Saturday's match against Watford as punishment for his off-field behaviour.

Manager Remi Garde called the 20-year-old "not professional," after he was pictured partying last weekend after Villa's 4-0 Premier League defeat to Everton.

Grealish has since been training with the Villa under-21 side and will continue to do so, Garde added this morning's press conference.

He said: "Jack won't be included in the squad for Watford. His actions are not of the professional standard that I expect from my players. That is why he's training in the under-21 team."

The nightclub footage is the latest of several unwelcome headlines to have dogged the youngster since he made his breakthrough at Villa last season.

In the summer, he was pictured apparently passed out in the street during a holiday in Tenerife, an incident for which he was fined by the club.

Earlier in the year, Grealish was photographed appearing to inhale nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, from a balloon.

Only last week, Garde warned Grealish he still needed to work hard in order to fulfil his potential and command a regular place in the team.

He was included in Villa's starting line-up at Goodison Park, but was substituted during the second-half of a woeful team display.

Meanwhile, Villa's third-choice goalkeeper Jed Steer has rejoined Huddersfield Town on a one-month loan deal.

Steer will be with the Terriers until Boxing Day, having already spent two months with the Championship club this season.
