Carlos Cuellar today hailed the impact Robbie Keane's had at Villa as the ex-Wolves striker prepares to play the last game of his loan spell.

Keane will line up in claret and blue for the final time in Villa's Premier League clash against Wigan at the DW Stadium on Saturday before he returns to parent club LA Galaxy.

The Ireland international has quickly become a fans' favourite and a popular member of the Villa Park dressing room not just for his infectious enthusiasm but also his displays on the pitch.

"We need to say to him 'thank you for your performances'. It is really sad to lose him because Robbie is playing so well and he has been very important for us," said Cuellar. "But we will try to win for him as well as for ourselves."

Keane has scored three goals in six games and there is a concern that Villa might suffer a dip when he returns to the US, but Cuellar insisted:?"We have got players who can come in and step up."

* The extent of Fabian Delph's ankle injury should be clearer today after scan results are examined by Villa's medical staff and will determine whether he returns to Leeds United to complete his loan spell.
