Aston Villa striker Darren Bent is convinced wingers Marc Albrighton and Charles N'Zogbia are starting to produce the kind of displays to "hurt" opposition teams.

The England international is set to return to the starting line-up for the game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge having responded to treatment on a thigh-groin injury.

Although he has been on the sidelines for the matches against Liverpool, Arsenal and Stoke, the 27-year-old is convinced the pair have started to show the kind of form on which he will thrive when back in the side.

Bent said: "With Charles N'Zogbia on the left and Marc Albrighton the right you know, as a striker, that the ball is going to come into the box.

"If you look at our games recently – against some very good full-backs – they have probably been two of our most dangerous players.

"It shows that we can carve teams open and create some chances for the strikers. It is up to us then to get on the end of them and finish them off.

"Marc was fantastic for us last season and Charlie had a great one when he was at Wigan, so hopefully they can both kick on now and we can really start hurting teams."

Albrighton has been named as Villa's player of the month for December, having scored in the win over Bolton and netted the 20,000th goal in the Premier League against Arsenal.
