Boxing legend Lennox Lewis himself has confirmed that his planned visit to the West Midlands next month has been postponed.

The last undisputed world heavyweight champion was due to be back in his homeland for two events in July,

Lewis was scheduled to be at Villa Park on Wednesday July 6 and then in Manchester two days later, for 'An Evening With' shows through promoter Boxfrog.

The 50-year-old was then due to work as a television pundit on the Saturday night for BoxNation, with Tyson Fury due to defend his world titles in a rematch against Wladimir Klitschko.

An ankle injury to Fury has seen the champion push the date back for the Manchester Arena show, so Lewis will not be travelling across from his home in Jamaica until later in the year.

The British Canadian, who was born to Jamaican parents, now resides in a luxury £4million mansion in Montego Bay.

No heavyweight has emulated his achievements since he hung up his gloves in 2004, having beaten every opponent he ever took on as a professional.

The prices to see him ranged from £99 to a whopping £5,000, the cost for one of only two sponsorship packages which included a seat on Lewis' table.

All tickets will still be deemed valid for the rearranged date, which Boxfrog are hoping to confirm in the coming days.
