PICTURED: Firefighters tackle Walsall chimney fire

A chimney fire in Walsall was put out by a fire crew this evening.

One engine from Bloxwich Fire Station was called to the house in Wood Lane, Pelsall, at around 6.30pm.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said: "The fire was extinguished from the grate and roof using ladders and a hose reel.

"Fire crews will be going back to check the area again later on in the evening."

Following the incident, @bloxwichfire tweeted: "Remember to get your chimney swept annually.
