PICTURED: Wolverhampton golf course in the pink at sunrise

A beautiful array of warming colours is captured here in the sky above Wolverhampton.

As the sun rises and attempts to break through a thin layer of cloud, the effect is a glorious range of colours from blue to pink and red to orange.

The stunning scene was captured by Events Coordinator Kate Marshall at her workplace, The Wergs Golf Club near Tettenhall.

Studying the green landscape it is hard to believe the image was taken just 10 minutes from the heart of bustling Wolverhampton.

Equally surprising is that the photo was not taken on an expensive digital SLR but on Kate's mobile phone.

In the foreground bunkers and flags from the 18-hole course can be made out with not a soul in sight.

While behind there are hundreds of conifers but not a single indication of the proximity of Wolverhampton.

The club has been owned by the Moseley family for two generations and offers an 18 hole, 6,949 yard course.

It offers a variety of features including bunkers, ditches, ponds, conifers and deciduous trees.

The site off Keepers Lane also has a 20-acre practice area which includes its own bunkers. The club even has a resident expert, PGA professional Shaun Ball.

Have you captured a similar image on your mobile phone across Staffordshire or the Black Country?
