Metro engineering works set to cause travel disruption between Wolverhampton and Birmingham

Travellers on the Metro will have to make alternative plans due to engineering works between Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

The Midlands Metro will not run on the weekend of February 20 and 21 due to engineering works

The Midland Metro has announced that essential work will be taking place between Wolverhampton St George's and Birmingham Library at Centenary Square over the weekend of February 20 and 21.

Services will begin to wind down from 8.30pm on Saturday, February 20 and will restart for the first tram on Monday, February 22.

Anyone looking to travel during this time will be able to use their metro ticket or pass on a number of other transport options.

These include National Express Bus Services 74 and 79 and West Midlands Railway train services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

There will also be a dedicated replacement bus service on Sunday, February 21 which will run every 15 minutes between Stand U at Wolverhampton bus station and Old Square in Birmingham city centre.
