WANTED: Passenger who got on wrong train caused delays costing £2,300 after CLIMBING out of window

This passenger was wanted by police today after allegedly climbing from the window of a moving train he'd only boarded because he was helping a passenger with their bags.

When the doors shut and the train began to move at Birmingham New Street, he lowered the door window and climbed from the carriage.

British Transport Police officer Pc Dawn Dominguez said: "The train had to make an emergency stop as a result and the service was delayed.

"Attempting to leave a moving train is incredibly dangerous and strictly prohibited by the railway bylaws.

"The man did not just risk serious injury; he also caused considerable disruption to his fellow passengers.

"Four services suffered delays, costing the industry more than £2,300 in fines."

The incident involved the 3.26pm Plymouth to Leeds train on platform eight, on February 3.

PC Dominguez added: "If you recognise the man pictured, please get in touch. I believe he will be able to greatly assist the investigation."
