Mercure Birmingham North Barons Court Hotel

The Mercure Birmingham North Barons Court Hotel, off Walsall Road, in Walsall, has been listed on the market for £2,850,000.

The hotel has 98 rooms, with en-suites, which have all been refurbished in the last two years, according to the listing.

There is also the potential to add an additional four rooms – to create 102.

The listing, on Right Move, states: "The property comprises a considerably extended former public house that appears to date from the 1930s. There are substantial purpose-built extensions added to the front, side and rear, mostly being built in the 1980s.

"The property is arranged over ground and three upper floors and the front elevation is of mock-Tudor style with pitched tile-clad roofing inset with dormer windows. The extensions are also over four floors with brick elevations and mansard tile-clad roofs.

"The property benefits from a Mercure franchise agreement under Accor Hotels.

"The property has a substantial catering kitchen facility with separate cooking area, still area and several preparation rooms. There is a chef’s office, staff canteen and walk-in refrigerators and freezers.

"Other areas include a general staff room, cellarage and a maintenance store. There are various laundry stores on the upper floors.

"The sale presents a rare opportunity to acquire a substantial hotel in the midlands, with the benefit of the Mercure franchise agreement in place. Equally, the site offers various asset management opportunities subject to the relevant planning permissions."
