Cat Southall, aged 39, has raised £820 from the head shave which took place at the Bond Street Tavern in Wolverhampton.

Mrs Southall, from Oxley, said: "I can't run, I won't bungee so a head shave seemed the only thing I could do – but it was great.

"People don't even recognise me now."

Mrs Southall's mother Aranka Jarai died aged 46 from breast cancer. She was raised by her father and old sister Marinna.

Recently, Mrs Southall's friend won a battle with cancer.

Mrs Southall said: "It is vital we continue to raise money and awareness of cancer.

"The more research we do the better chance we have, and maybe today my mother would have survived."

Mrs Southall lives in Leverton Rise in Oxley. The civil servant has two sons and a granddaughter.

As part of the head shave a cake sale was organised with dozens sold to help boost the fund.
