Steven Beards, aged 34, of Rowland Avenue, Bentley and Julie Beards, 35, of Heather Close, Dudley Fields appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday.

Susan Whiting's body was found at a house in Heather Close on August 15 and her post mortem revealed she died from a head injury.

The alarm was raised by the 20-year-old's family after she failed to return to her home on Station Street after she was believed to be staying at a friend's house on the Sunday night.

She was said to have left the house and was due to be picked up from there by her mother at 8am on Monday but when she didn't return by lunchtime, her family called the police.

Her body was found by police on the Tuesday afternoon.

Miss Whiting, who had a learning impairment, attended the Hawbush centre at Walsall Adult and Community College.

The pair will next appear in court on January 25 at Warwick Crown Court.
