Vin Campbell was on licence from his last six year jail term when police found him dealing cocaine and heroin in Wolverhampton, the city's crown court was told.

Officers stopped his car and found seven £10 wraps of crack cocaine and 15 of heroin ready to sell in street deals, revealed Mr Robert Edwards, prosecuting. They also discovered £1,580 in cash.

Mr Anthony Bell, defending, said that Campbell had been supplying the drugs to raise funds to pay for his own drug addiction.

The father-of-two, aged 51 and from Springfield Road, Parkfields, who had 74 previous convictions, admitted possessing the two controlled drugs with intent to supply and he was jailed for five years eight months.

Judge Martin Walsh told him on Thursday: "This is the third time you have been caught acting as a street dealer. It is an aggravating feature of this case that you were caught again while you were on licence."
