The baby, who was not believed to be at full-term, was discovered by a member of the public at Bilston Morrisons on Sunday, April 11.

The mother was tracked down after an urgent police appeal and taken to hospital to receive "appropriate care".

A 21-year-old woman and 36-year-old man were arrested the following day and later bailed.

West Midlands Police has not said what crimes the pair are suspected of committing.

On Wednesday a police spokesman confirmed "investigations are continuing".

Flowers were left in the car park next to the Black country Route, with one saying: "RIP little one from all at Morrisons Bilston. Fly high angel."
