Kelly Whittaker, 25, has been banned from the road for 18 months after she was caught on December 30 on the A41 near Albrighton.

The mother-of-three was pulled over in a Peugeot 307, and when breathalysed was found to have 49mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - which is above the legal limit of 35mg.

Whittaker, of Thompson Avenue, Wolverhampton, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance and driving without a licence at Telford Magistrates Court.

When asked why she drove without a policy, she said: "I had insurance but it ran out."

As well as banning her, magistrates also fined her £120 and ordered her to pay a £34 surcharge and £135 prosecution costs.

She was also offered a course to reduce her ban.
