Faisal raises thousands to help those in need
A 23-year-has been putting his strong social media following to use for good causes.
Faisal Khan began doing charity work more than a year ago, prompted by an earthquake in Pakistan.
Faisal has more than 40,000 followers on social media and with the help of them he raised £3,000 in one week, which he used to help rebuild houses.
Following this his Ramadan 2020 project was motivated by the Yemen Crisis.
Faisal said: “I created a go fund me page and attempted to raise money for this cause in various ways. In three weeks, we managed to raise £21,000.
"One hundred per cent of the money was sent to Yemen to help a hospital with their treatment of patients as well as helping run down villages.
"This project was supported and delivered through Shreen Mahmood at Mercy Relief.”
He also took part in a charity cricket match, raising more than £6,000 for those in Malawi.
And in his latest project he has been helping the homeless in the Black Country.
“I spent Christmas and New Year’s Day giving out packages to the less fortunate living on the streets and in hostels in Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Dudley," he added.
"My future desire is to open a soup kitchen.”
