Walsall Council has launched an appeal to identify the person who dumped stable waste on the Lea, off Goscote Lane, on several occasions earlier this year.

As well as the council having the deal with the removal of the waste, the fly-tipped rubbish can have a detrimental impact on the local environment and wildlife.

Councillor Garry Perry, deputy leader for resilient communities at Walsall Council, said: “Fly-tipping is unacceptable and our officers work really hard to identify those responsible for fly-tipping as well as clearing it up.

"Ultimately we need evidence such as images captured on CCTV cameras or eyewitness reports.

"In this instance, the camera has captured images of an individual fly-tipping but we now need the public to help us identify this person, who still continues to tip waste seen as recent as last week.

"When will it finally sink in with some people that we will not tolerate this. We will pursue and seek out those responsible and use all means available to bring them to justice.

“There are many ways to dispose of waste responsibly including the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Fryers Road, Leamore, and Merchants Way, Aldridge, which are free of charge – there is simply no excuse.”

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to contact the community protection team on 01922 653060 or by emailing communityprotection@walsall.gov.uk, quoting reference WK/202106568.

Those who provide information that leads to a successful prosecution, may be eligible to claim a £500 reward.

To request the removal of fly-tipped rubbish from council land where you have not eye-witnessed it being fly-tipped, call clean and green on 01922 653344.
