Gail Crampton has offered her thanks to Manni Massey for helping raise money to help children like her daughter Isabelle who are suffering with Crohn's disease and colitis

A raffle which included prizes from 26 businesses in Wombourne has raised £2192 for Crohn’s in Childhood Research Association (CICRA), helping the charity to continue looking for a cure for Crohn’s disease and colitis.

The raffle, which took place on Christmas Eve, saw a star prize of an alcohol hamper worth £400, as well as other prizes such as a meal for two at the Vine restaurant and a £100 Body Shop voucher.

The raffle was organised by businessman Manni Massey, who said he organised it after speaking to Gail Crompton, mother of schoolgirl Isabelle, who suffers from Crohn’s disease.

He said: “Gail was telling me about the disease and how CICRA hasn’t got enough funding to do their work and find a cure for the disease.

"What I said to her was that I have collection boxes in my shop GM Discounts which we can collect for the charity and I also donated £150, which she was over the moon with.

“I then said to her that I do a raffle every year to support charities and I said I would do it for her daughter’s charity, so that’s what we did and the response was fantastic.”

He offered thanks to the businesses around Wombourne for supporting the charity and said he felt proud at being able to help people through charity.

Gail offered her thanks to Mr Massey and everyone who had supported the raffle and said it would greatly help children like her 14-year-old daughter.

She said: “I am so humbled that someone I barely know would help the charity in this way.

"I was absolutely thrilled that he picked CICRA as they are the only children’s charity in the country and rely solely on donations.

"I am overwhelmed by the kindness I’ve seen.”
