Quad bike rider killed in Cannock crash named as Adrian Wright

A man who died after the quad bike he was riding crashed into a fence in Cannock has been named as Adrian Wright.

Mr Wright, from the Cannock area, was travelling along Laburnum Avenue shortly before 5.30pm on Wednesday, when he hit the fence.

Nearby residents rushed to help the 53-year-old and carried out CPR before paramedics arrived but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the crash and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "His family are being supported by specially trained officers and ask that they are allowed to grieve privately at this difficult time.

"Investigating officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit continue to ask any witnesses to the incident or with relevant dash-cam footage to come forward and ask that anyone who saw a Yamaha quad bike in the area of Laburnum Avenue to get in touch."

Flowers have since been laid at the scene with one bouquet reading “RIP Ade”.
