Air ambulance called to medical emergency at Cannock bus station

An air ambulance landed in Cannock after a medical emergency at the town's bus station today.

The Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene next to the Ringway after emergency services were called at around 9.30am.

The helicopter landed on the nearby Beecroft Road Car Park.

The injured man was treated at the scene before being taken to New Cross Hospital by land ambulance.

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 9:30am to reports of a medical emergency at Cannock Bus Station on the Ringway.

"Crews arrived to find one patient, a man.

"They administered basic life support on scene before taking him by land ambulance to New Cross Hospital on blue lights for further treatment."
