Company Shop Dudley will welcome eligible members of the community, including key workers and those receiving means-tested benefits, who can sign up for free membership.

The new store at Castle Mill, Birmingham New Road, Dudley, will stop good food and household products going to waste.

It will officially open on March 10, at 10am, offering high-quality, low-cost food and products, including big name brands such as Marks & Spencer, Nestle and Tesco, which are on average around 50 per cent off the normal retail price.

Membership is open to almost all key workers, including those working in the NHS, social care, emergency services, the fast moving consumer goods supply chain, British Army and prison services, and temporarily to those working in schools and councils.

In order to reach families most in need across the region, Company Shop Dudley has also extended its membership to those in receipt of means tested benefits, including families with children receiving free school meals.

All eligible individuals and families need to do is sign up for a free membership card online ahead of the store opening.

Critical

Company Shop is also encouraging manufacturers, retailers and brands to get in touch.

Sally Wake, head of strategic relationships for Company Shop Group, said: “We’re really pleased to be opening Company Shop Dudley in March, bringing our excellent offer to the West Midlands for the first time and fulfilling our longstanding commitment to the region.

"We are especially glad that we are able to open at this critical time, because the new store will help to stretch the budgets of families and key workers across the region, as well as creating 47 new jobs and preventing unnecessary waste.

“The opening of Company Shop Dudley has been made possible thanks to the ongoing support we have received from our industry partners, members, local organisations, Dudley Council and the wider community.

"We would like to encourage anyone who is eligible for membership to sign up straight away, so they can be amongst the first to benefit from our discounted offers as soon as doors open.”

Company Shop Dudley is its first store of its kind in the West Midlands but there are already plans to expand further.
