The first ever Mind Ride is happening tomorrow in aid of the Dudley Mind mental health charity.

Organisers say mental health is a big issue in Dudley and the mayor, Councillor Dave Tyler, has chosen it as one of his charities to support.

The ride will start at Himley Hall at 10am taking on a 19.7-mile ride circling the Dudley borough and returning back to Himley in under an hour.

Campaigner Damian Corfield, who is helping organise the event, said of the upcoming event: “We have the TV paramedic bikers Steve Harris MBE and Mark Hayes joining us and also have Alexandra Darby, miss Black Country as well.

“We’re to run it as a big annual event and expecting a large turnout,” Mr Corfield added.

All speed limits road signs and traffic light will be adhered to as no roads will be closed, so care and safety are paramount.

Riders and pillion passengers are advised to arrive early from 9am so a safety briefing and route plan can be given.

Pre-registration and a £5 donation is required towards the event when booking tickets.
