Woman dies in hospital after being hit by car in Birmingham

A 46-year-old woman who was hit by a car in Birmingham has died.

The woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a Ford Focus in Salisbury Road, in Moseley, at around 8pm on Thursday.

She was taken to hospital, but died on Saturday. Specialist police officers are supporting her family.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from West Midlands Police's serious collision investigation unit, said: "We know this is a deeply distressing time for her family and friends.

"They asked for privacy to grieve and we are now working to establish what caused this collision to occur.

"We remain keen to hear from anybody who was in the area and may have dash cam footage."

The driver of the Ford Focus remained at the scene and is helping with police enquiries.
