Three new coronavirus deaths confirmed at region's hospitals

Three coronavirus deaths have been confirmed at two of the region's hospitals, in the latest figures.

It means the total number of Covid hospital deaths in the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire increased to 7,572.

On top of this, a total of 1,390 people have died in the region's care homes after contracting coronavirus.

Two deaths were announced at the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, where a total of 1,171 people have now died.

One death was announced at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, where a total of 2,606 people have now died. The trust runs the Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope hospitals.

A total of 1,168 people have died at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.

A total of 800 people have died at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and 720 at the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.

And at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, a total of 736 people have now died.
