Dudley group finds egg-cellent way to aid others

A community group that crafts items for people in need is appealing for chocolate Easter egg donations.

For The Love Of Scrubs, based in Dudley, is crafting knitted baskets and bags to hand over to members of the community this Easter.

The donations will go to a variety of good causes including hospitals, people living in poverty and victims of domestic abuse.

Lisa Maidment, 48, from Wordsley, who launched the group, said: "We have been making handmade items for communities since there was a need for scrubs, we started making scrubs back in April last year.

"We have diversified by making all sorts of handmade items, so crochets, hand-stitched items for various communities around the Dudley area.

"We did Christmas items, so it was Christmas presents, but we are doing the same for Easter.

"We are making Easter chicks, Easter bunnies and putting them in a fabric bag.

"They will be distributed to those in poverty, or domestic abuse, or human trafficking, to every child admitted to Russells Hall, City Hospital, Sandwell, Good Hope and Heartlands hospital, will all get these gifts for every child admitted.

"What we want is cream eggs, like the smaller eggs, that kind of size eggs that can go with them as a gift."
