St Joseph's Church in Wolverhampton will be the third rapid test site in the city

St Joseph's Church, in Stowheath Lane, will become the third rapid test centre in the city, alongside existing facilities at Wolverhampton Civic Centre and the Jamia Masjid Bilal Mosque, on Newhampton Road West.

The new centre will be open daily from 2pm-6pm from Friday, January 8 and will allow anyone without symptoms to attend and find out their results in under an hour.

Around 21,000 rapid Covid-19 tests have been conducted in Wolverhampton and Father Craig Fullard, parish priest of St Joseph's Church, said he was pleased to play a small part in helping battle the virus.

He said: "We’re really pleased that, in the St Newman Cluster, we are able to play our small part in helping our city combat this virus which has affected all our lives so negatively over the last nine months.

"It has been a privilege to have worked alongside people of different faiths and those of no faith in other test centres and we look forward to continuing to do so as we move forward."

A further rapid test centre is due to open in Pendeford later this month.
