The MindKind Projects Community Interest Company started out by delivering Mental Health First Aid training to better equip workplaces to deal with mental health issues, before moving into support for the community.

MindKind, at the Expressions shop in Walsall, offers support for those who may be struggling and also boosts confidence and wellbeing.

On Christmas Day, volunteers gave up their time to cook a three-course Christmas Lunch so that no one had to eat alone.

MindKind also holds a number of social groups for those who may be feeling isolated or cannot see loved ones.

Sureya Gulzar, project manager of Mindkind Projects CIC, said: “We have made some tough decisions to keep going throughout Covid-19 to support some of the most vulnerable through the pandemic.

“The threat to mental health is just as real as the virus.

“So at MindKind we carried on with our walking groups and men’s social groups who have produced a song called Men which is about male suicide.

"We also held our women’s support groups, including making packs for families without Christmas presents and giving up our Christmas to make a sit down three course meal to ensure no one who comes to us has to eats alone.

“We need to let more people know we are available to support them.”

Due to the new Tier Four restrictions which are now in place in the area, groups will no longer be able to meet in person, however anyone who needs support can visit The MindKind Projects CIC’s Facebook page.
