Dr Manickam Murugan, has spent almost 30 years as a senior GP Partner at Hednesford Medical Practice.

Dr Murugan thanked his patients for having him as their GP.

He said: “My 28 years of working as a GP and striving to help my patients have indeed been an absolute joyous experience for me to dedicate and serve the community for most of my professional career.

“I hope that I have done my best to provide the utmost care and help to my patients, even in their most difficult of times and can’t thank my patients enough in having me to be their GP for all these years.

"Working as a GP in Hednesford, Cannock Chase, Staffordshire was an experience that enabled me as a person and a GP to develop and become the practitioner that I always aspired to be.

“I hope that I left general practice in a better place for all involved than when I first started in it all those years ago.

Beautiful

“I am very grateful to the entire practice staff team, some of whom have been working with me for many years, in providing a seamless transition in the past few months to hand over both clinical and administrative duties to Dr Geeranavar and the team he will be leading.

“I am thankful to my beloved wife Mrs Meena Murugan for all her dedication, help and support over the years as not just my wife, but mother to my beautiful children.

“Reaching the retirement age is a new experience, sobering in many ways but also the start of a new phase of my life which I am sure will be kept plenty busy playing with my grandchildren.

"Again, I would like to thank all my patients and the entire practice team for their loyalty and support over the years and wish everyone all the very best for the future.”

He said he wanted to bid farewell to all his patients at the practice at Hednesford Valley Health Centre since Covid had prevented him from seeing many of them in person.
