Four people escape Wolverhampton house blaze

Four people managed to escape serious injury when a fire broke out at a house in Wolverhampton.

Ten firefighters were called out to the blaze which broke out in the back bedroom of a mid-terraced house on Parkfield Road this morning.

Two engines were sent to the fire at around 11.45am and crews arrived to find the occupants had already escaped from the building. The flames were out by 12.05pm

Traffic police were called out, along with an ambulance to deal with two residents who were suffering from the affects of breathing in smoke, but no one was taken to hospital.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
