Inquest opens into death of man, 90, killed in A449 accident

An inquest has been opened on a 90-year-old man who was knocked over and killed in an accident on the busy A449.

Frederick Dudley, of Bearnett Drive, Upper Penn, was reportedly struck by a black VW Scirocco travelling towards Himley on the Stourbridge Road, near the Miller & Carter restaurant, on November 25.

Two men arrested after the incident remain on bail. The inquest was adjourned Police say that a 27 year old from Wolverhampton and a 25 year old from Kingswinford who were arrested over offences connected with the incident still remain on bail.

The cause of death given was multiple injuries.

The inquest has been adjourned by South Staffordshire Coroners until May 9.
