Three men injured in Walsall crash

Three men were injured when a car and a van collided in Walsall.

The car driver, in his 30s, was left with back, neck, chest, abdomen and arm injuries in the accident on West Bromwich Road at around 6.20pm yesterday.

He was treated at the scene and taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital to be checked for a possible head injury.

His passenger, in his 30s, was left with a fractured arm and other more minor injures, before being taken to Sandwell General Hospital.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Claire Brown said: "The driver of the van, a man in his 70s, was being cared for by his family who were at the scene when ambulance staff arrived.

"He was assessed and was found to have sustained chest pain as well as lower leg injuries. He too was given pain relief before being taken to Sandwell Hospital for further treatment."
