Severe barn blaze in West Bromwich lights up the night sky as traffic disrupted - WATCH

A 'severe fire' broke out at a barn in West Bromwich close to a busy route.

Around six fire engines were at the scene in Forge Lane, near to Sandwell Valley Nature Reserve.

The fire started at around 3.10pm yesterday in the single story farm building.

Firefighters used a water jet to douse the flames.

Forge Lane is used by hundreds of West Brom fans parking up before walking to The Hawthorns.

Albion play Swansea City at home in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

West Midlands Fire Service spokesman, Matt Smith, said: "The police have been informed."

Emergency vehicles parked on main road outside the site. Traffic was disrupted as a result.
