Boy, 12, fighting for his life after collision with car in Cannock
A 12-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital with suspected life threatening injuries after a collision with a car on Hemlock Way.
The boy was taken to Queen Elizabeth's Children Hospital after the collision involving Ford Fiesta just before 8.30am this morning.
The collision took place on Hemlock Way at the junction of Sindon Hill Way.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Crews arrived to find a 12-year-old boy with a number of serious injuries following a collision with a car.
"He was assessed and treated for head, arm, leg and abdominal injuries.
"He was immobilised and given pain relief before being airlifted to Birmingham Childrens Hospital.
"Unfortunately, his injuries are thought to be extremely serious.
"The driver of the car, a woman, was uninjured in the incident."
Roads were closed as the helicopter landed. A police investigation is ongoing.
