PICTURED: Firefighters tackle Dudley car blaze

A car was destroyed by fire after being found alight in Dudley.

Crews from Dudley Fire Station attended the blaze on a car park in Himley Road just after midnight.

On arrival they found no one at the scene.

A watch commander from Dudley Fire Station said: "We received a call at around 12.08am this morning from a neighbour saying that a car was alight in the rear area of a private car park just behind houses on the Himley Road.

"No one was around at the time.

"The fire was so severe that you couldn't even tell what make the car was as it was gutted by the time we arrived.

"We stayed at the scene for about an hour until it was fully put out."

Police are investigating.
