The man, named locally as father-of-one Stuart Benger, who was in his 30s, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on Tuesday evening where he died two days later.

Police said no-one else is thought to have been involved in the incident which took place at a home in Barns Lane, Rushall.

Officers said one line of inquiry was that Mr Benger had shot himself with a homemade gun. His death has now been referred to the Black Country coroner.
