IN PICTURES: 40 evacuated after toaster sparks Wolverhampton city centre fire

Around 40 people had to be evacuated from homes in Wolverhampton city centre after a fire.

West Midlands Fire Service were called to flats in Stafford Street at 4:25pm this afternoon after a toaster caught alight on the first floor of a three-story building.

Two firefighters entered the building with breathing apparatus and one person was seen to treated by paramedics after suffering smoke inhalation.

It is not believed anyone else was hurt.
