CCTV released after woman punched and man hit with bottle in train attack

These two men were being sought by police today after a man and a woman were left with head injuries in a vicious attack on a train.

The victims – a man and a woman - were left with head injuries after they were set upon as the train arrived at Stourbridge Junction railway station.

They had been travelling with a group of friends when the assault took place.

The woman was punched in the face and the man was struck with a glass bottle during the attack.

British Transport Police has released the images of two men they want to talk to after reviewing CCTV from on board the train .

Police said the assault took place at around 11.15pm on September 20.

Dc Dan Hart said: "The victims – a male and a female - were travelling with friends on a train to Birmingham for a night out when a group of four men boarded at Kidderminster and began to interact with them.

"An altercation broke out and two of the men from the group of four threatened members of the other group before one of the men punched the female victim and then struck the male victim with a glass bottle, causing a cut to his forehead which required stitches.

"If you recognise either of the men pictured, I would like to hear from you. We would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

"This was a violent assault which has left the victim with a nasty head injury. It's vital that we trace those responsible."
