Huge trees crush garden fence in Wolverhampton

Two 75ft conifers have fallen into a garden in Wolverhampton, as heavy rain lashed the region.

The towering trees buckled under the weight of heavy rain at the property in Pine Close, Merridale, Wolverhampton at around 1pm.

Firefighters from Wolverhampton were sent out to make sure the scene was safe.

No-one was injured and Wolverhampton fire station took to twitter to post images of the scene and urge pedestrians to take care.

Nationally, emergency services were searching for people missing in ferocious weather as the first storms of 2014 brought flooding misery to home-owners.
